The conference championships are here and sportsbooks like Underdog (like we recommend and play ourselves) are offering small 4 league drafts where you choose 6 players to make your line up to win big cash! Last week we made 116X our cash placing 24th out of 30,000+! With only 6 picks, a whiff could cost you. I'll give you a pick that could win you your week and a pick that could be a potential land mine.
QB Play: Jayden Daniels vs Philadelphia Eagles
I told you to take Daniels last week and he paid off massively. This week you have four options and honestly, this isn't the week to draft a QB early. I feel that the play can't be Josh Allen as he is facing an ELITE Chiefs defense that is going to be schemed up to give Allen nightmares. It can't be Mahomes as the Chiefs rely on their defense and will play slow, methodically, and only play for the win as they always do. It definitely can't be Jalen Hurts. He has an injured leg which is going to affect his ability to run the ball, and the Eagles will likely lean on the run with Saquon vs a porous Washington run defense. While the Eagles have a good defense, Daniels has the ability to scramble and the receivers to make him the top QB again.
QB Fade: Patrick Mahomes vs Buffalo Bills
I bounced back and forth between Mahomes and Hurts. I honestly feel that Hurts could have 20 or less pass attempts and 0 TDs giving him the lower floor. The reason I didn't choose Hurts is because the Washington pass defense isn't great either and his game likely ends with a higher total than the game between Buffalo and KC. Mahomes had under 200 yards and 1 TD last week and he could repeat a similar performance this week. The Chiefs have shown all season there is only one stat that they care about, and that's winning. They will play the field position battle in a cold-defensive heavy game. He's a top 4 QB this week....among 4 QBs.
RB Play: Kareem Hunt vs Buffalo Bills
Pacheco is a tough bird and likely gets drafted ahead of Hunt in most leagues but that is a HUGE mistake. Hunt has been better than Pacheco since Pacheco returned, and the Chiefs are beginning to lean heavier on the back that's getting it done when it matters. Hunt had 3 more touches and the rushing TD for the game while averaging 5.5 yards per carry vs Pacheco's 3.6 YPC. The best part about Hunt is how late you can get him while loading up on other positions.
RB Fade: Brian Robinson Jr vs Philadelphia Eagles
The Commanders are going to have a tough job running through the teeth of this defense. The Eagles D-line is elite and will crash the middle of the line quickly requiring the backs to bounce outside increasing the chances of being tackled in the backfield. The split with Ekeler makes BRJ even more risky. Finally, while I believe in Daniels, he is a rookie QB playing on the Road in the NFC championship and if he starts to self-destruct, the Commanders will have to abandon the run.
WR Play: Terry McLaurin vs Philadelphia Eagles
Terry has made me $500 since the playoffs started and I'm not jumping off him now. As stated above, it's going to be hard to run the ball vs the Eagles and the area to attack will be the passing game. Terry is Daniels main guy, and we know the Eagles are going to score at will. Terry has to ball for the Commanders to stay in this game and he is my #1 WR overall this week.
WR Fade: DeAndre Hopkins vs Buffalo Bills
Hopkins has the big name, and he has had big moments with the Chiefs this season, but his play time has been trending in the wrong direction. Marquise Brown returning, the elevation of Worthy's play, and Noah Gray's accension has had a negative effect on Hopkins stats. He had no receptions and only one target last week. Hopkins floor is zero points, and I won't own any shares of Hopkins this week.
TE Play: Travis Kelce vs Buffalo Bills
Like Daniels above, I told you to take Kelce last week and there was no surprise that those two were the most owned players on high money winning rosters. Playoff Kelce is just DIFFERENT. He doesn't have the speed anymore, but he is so cerebral and finds the soft zones in the defense to make life easy for Mahomes. Kelce and Mahomes have been the reaper for the Bills, don't expect anything different.
TE Fade: Dallas Goedert vs Washington Commanders
Goedert led the team in receiving yards and tied for the lead in receptions. THAT IS NOT A COINCIDENCE! The Rams were terrible against TE's all season and the writing was on the wall for Goedert to have a bounce back game. The Commanders are middle of the league in defending the TE position overall but have allowed the 5th fewest completions and yards to TE's. Goedert has been up and down this season, so don't just ride the stats of last week.
