Recap:
We’re a third of the way through the season and things are already starting to look quite a bit different than initially expected when the season began.
Manchester City continue their downward spiral, losing 0-4 at home to Spurs. Meanwhile, Liverpool continue their dominance, sitting 8 points in front of City at the top of the EPL table, while also currently topping the Champions League table with a perfect 5 wins from 5 in that competition.
Our Best Bets went 1-2, winning our Saturday parlay only. I was disappointed to see Manchester United only manage a draw in Ruben Amorim’s first game in charge, losing our Man U bet.
Across the Globe we went 3-2, winning both Serie A matches as well as our Marseille bet.
Upcoming Matches:
Matchweek 13 kicks off on Friday at 3:00 p.m. EST with Brighton hosting Southampton.
The marquee match comes on Sunday afternoon with Manchester City traveling to Anfield to take on Liverpool. Manchester City, in their worst run of form for years, now must travel to a notoriously difficult venue while Liverpool are on an incredible run of form and at the top of the table.
Let’s get to the bets:
Best Bets:
Pick #1: Nottingham Forest / Ipswich Town BTTS -115 (Nov. 30, 2024; 10:00 a.m. EST):
I don’t often bet the Both Teams To Score market, as I typically don’t love the odds, but this line was too good to pass up.
Each of these teams have been consistently scoring this season, with Nottingham Forest scoring in all 10 of 12 and Ipswich scoring in 9 of 12.
Forest are coming off a poor game to Arsenal while Ipswich are coming off a solid performance against Manchester United. Forest have been solid defensively, conceding the 3rd least goals, but Ipswich look dangerous and should get a goal, while I expect at least one goal from Forest at home.
Pick #2: Wolverhampton Wanderers Moneyline +175 (Nov. 30, 2024; 8:30 a.m. EST):
For our second bet I’m backing this Wolves side that has really struggled to start the year, but seems to now be finding a good run of form over the last two matches. Wolves are the underdogs at home at +175 but I think they’ll get the win.
Wolves have only won 2 matches this year, their last two against Fulham and Southampton. They finally seem to have found their spark, with Cunha getting a goal and assist against Southampton and 2 goals and an assist against Fulham.
Bournemouth have lost their last two matches and will host Tottenham in the middle of next week. I think they’ve fallen off slightly from the beginning of the season while Wolves seem to have done the opposite.
Bonus:
If you’re looking for something a little safer, take Wolves to Win Either Half -120.
I’ll also dabble with Cunha to Score or Assist +110.
Pick #3: Chelsea Moneyline -140 (Dec. 1, 2024; 8:30 a.m. EST):
Chelsea are playing well this season under Enzo Maresca and are challenging for a top 4 spot while dominating in the UEFA Conference League.
Chelsea have won 10 of their last 15 and are coming off a 0-2 win on the road in the Conference League. Chelsea have a huge squad, which allowed them to play a heavily-rotated squad on Thursday.
Aston Villa are struggling to handle the high volume of matches, having failed to win in 7 matches. Villa played a tough opponent this week in the Champions League, hosting Juventus, getting a 0-0 draw. Villa had a goal ruled out in the dying moments of the game.
Villa could use a morale boost, but they played a tougher match than Chelsea and had to rely on their typical starters for most of the match. They’ll be tired and desperate against a Chelsea team with high spirits and fresh legs.
Across the Globe:
Melbourne City FC Moneyline -130 (Australia; A-League)
Corinthians Moneyline +125 (Brazil; Serie A)
Lazio Moneyline -120 (Italy; Serie A)
Young Boys Moneyline -115 (Switzerland; Super League)
Olympique Lyon Moneyline -105 (France; Ligue 1)
Season Record:
Best Bets: 17-18
Across the Globe: 32-32
