Recap:
We’re fresh off a round of midweek EPL fixtures and are jumping right back into a busy weekend! Matches come thick and fast around the holidays, an added joy this time of year.
Liverpool dropped points after a late comeback from Newcastle in an exciting 3-3 match, while Manchester City and Crystal Palace finally got back to winning ways.
It was a rough week for me on the betting front, going 0-3 for Best Bets and 1-2 Across the Globe. It’s back to the drawing board as we get ready to turn things around this weekend.
Upcoming Matches:
Matchweek 15 kicks off with Merseyside Derby between Everton and Liverpool at 7:30 a.m. EST on Saturday. The big game on Sunday is Spurs hosting Chelsea in a London Derby. The weekend closes with a match on Monday with West Ham hosting Wolves.
Let’s get to the bets:
Best Bets:
Pick #1: Manchester City Moneyline -140 (Dec. 7, 2024; 10:00 a.m. EST):
Manchester City were in their worst slump in their recent history but finally secured a 3-0 win at home against Nottingham Forest in their last match.
Manchester City have had a knack of dropping points early in the season and going on a dominant run in the spring, but this year spring may need to come a little sooner.
Pep Guardiola switched up the lineup last time out, dropping Brazilian keeper, Ederson, and starting Kevin De Bruyne.
They now travel to Crystal Palace, who won in a gritty 0-1 match at Ipswich, but have been otherwise poor this year, sitting in 17th.
Pick #2: Manchester United Moneyline -130 (Dec. 7, 2024; 12:30 p.m. EST):
Sticking with Manchester clubs, I’m backing Ruben Amorim’s United to get another win at home.
United generally seem to have some optimism around their new coach, despite getting their first loss to Arsenal in the midweek. United especially look dangerous at home, winning both home matches under Amorim, part of a 7-match unbeaten run at home.
Nottingham Forest, their opposition, are coming off a loss at the blue half of Manchester, their 3rd loss in 4 matches. They’ve been great to start the season, but that form has started to slip.
Pick #3: Bournemouth Moneyline +100 (Dec. 8, 2024; 9:00 a.m. EST):
Bournemouth are coming off another strong win at home against Tottenham, their second win in a row, and now travel to face Ipswich, who have only won 1 match and have not won at home yet this season.
Bournemouth have done well this season, winning big games against Spurs, Man City, and Arsenal.
Ipswich, on the other hand, have looked dangerous at times but have failed to get results. They sit 18th in the league and are last in the league for shots on target and expected goals.
Further, Kluivert has 4 goals in Bournemouth’s last two away matches and he’ll try to extend this streak against Ipswich.
Across the Globe:
Fenerbahçe Moneyline -130 (Türkiye; Super Lig)
Go Ahead Eagles Moneyline +100 (Netherlands; Eredivisie)
Real Madrid Moneyline -110 (Spain; La Liga)
Boca Juniors Moneyline +120 (Argentina; Liga Profesional)
Young Boys Moneyline +125 (Switzerland; Super League)
Season Record:
Best Bets: 18-23
Across the Globe: 36-36
