English Premier League Best Bets: Matchweek 29 (March 15, 2025 - March 16, 2025):

Welcome to English Premier League Soccer Best Bets, where we break down the latest action in the English Premier League (EPL) and my favorite bets for the upcoming matches, providing quality content that is accessible to new fans and engaging to old and new fans alike.

For an overview of what to expect in this Bettor in Green Article Series, check out my EPL Season Preview and Futures article here.

Recap:

There are only 10 matchweeks left in the season and, while Liverpool have run away with the title, the race for the European places (earning a berth into next year’s Champions League, Europa League, or Conference League) is really heating up!

Only 9 points separate Nottingham Forest in 3rd, and Fulham in 10th.

Speaking of Nottingham Forest, they had a good win over Manchester City to stay in 3rd.

All 3 teams in the relegation zone (Ipswich Town, Leicester City, and Southampton) lost this weekend and stay in the danger zone.

The marquee match, Manchester United hosting Arsenal, ended 1-1 as Arsenal continue to drop further beneath Liverpool.

For betting, we had a terrible weekend, as our Best Bets went 0-3, losing Man City Moneyline, Liverpool Win to Nil, and Arsenal Moneyline.

Across the Globe didn’t go much better, going 1-4, winning on Roma. Time to shake it off and get back to winning ways.

Upcoming Matches:

With only 10 weeks left, and the other Cup and European competitions getting to the final stages, the most exciting part of the season is upon us.

Speaking of Cup competitions, Liverpool play Newcastle in the Carabao Cup final this Sunday, meaning they won’t play in the EPL this weekend. This ultimately means Liverpool, Newcastle, Crystal Palace, and Aston Villa won’t have an EPL match this weekend.

Let’s get to the bets:

Best Bets:

Pick #1: Wolverhampton Wanderers Moneyline +105 (March 15, 2025; 11:00 a.m. EST):

For our first bet, I’m looking to back a Wolves team that are just one place above the relegation zone. I’ve primarily been fading Wolves, rather than betting them this season, but have more often than not stayed away from their matches entirely, as I think Wolves can be tough to predict.

A team I’ve been betting against with much greater frequency is Southampton, Wolves opponent this week. Southampton sit bottom of the table and will surely be relegated. Many of their key stats are last in the league or near that mark and they’ve lost their last 5 matches, scoring only 2 goals in that span.

Wolves will want to distance themselves from the relegation zone. They’re 6 points clear as it stands and will see this as an opportunity to put another 3 points between them and the drop zone.

Pick #2: Tottenham Hotspur to Win or Draw -125 (March 16, 2025; 9:30 a.m. EST):

Next, I’m backing a rejuvenated Spurs squad to win or draw on the road in a London Derby against Fulham.

Spurs are coming off a Thursday Europa League match at home to AZ Alkmaar, a match they won with a goal from Maddison and a brace (two goals) from Odobert, who just recently got back from injury.

More importantly for Spurs, centerback Micky Van de Ven is getting back to full fitness, having played 29 minutes in the EPL against Bournemouth last week and then playing 61 minutes in Spurs’ Europa League match. His quick pace is a critical component for the way Ange Postecoglou plays, allowing more defenders to push forward, knowing he can cover large distances in defense by himself.

Fulham have been a great squad this season and I’ve really enjoyed the way they play. I enjoy seeing Raul Jiménez and Adama Traoré back at some of their best form and, as an American, have loved watching Antonee “Jedi” Robinson at left back.

However, within their last 8 matches, they’ve lost 4 (2 home, 2 away), but had only lost 4 in their previous 20 before that. They’ve lost their last 2 London Derbies, losing to Crystal Palace and West Ham. They advanced in the FA Cup and will have another date with Crystal Palace in a couple weeks.

While I think Spurs will actually get the win and will dabble on the moneyline at +240, I’m taking it safe with the double chance.

Pick #3: 2-Leg SGP: Manchester United Win or Draw and Under 3.5 Total Goals -120 (March 16, 2025; 3:00 p.m. EST):

For my final Best Bet, I'm looking at the final match of the weekend between Manchester United and Leicester.

I’m fading another relegation zone team and, while this is the time of year clubs in the drop zone are desperate to get out, I haven’t been convinced by Leicester under Ruud van Nistelrooy. They’ve lost their last 6 in all competitions and are 6 points from safety.

The magic of Ruud van Nistelrooy starting a push to safety against Manchester United, where he was an assistant coach and caretaker manager last fall, would be incredible, but football doesn’t always work that way.

United have really struggled this season, but seem to be finally finding some footing. They haven’t lost in 6 matches, though 4 of those were draws, one of which went to penalty kicks in the FA Cup, where United ultimately lost. They did put in a solid display over two matches in the Europa League against Real Sociedad, most recently winning 4-1.

United knocked Leicester out of the FA Cup a few weeks ago, ending 2-1. I expect a similar result here, or perhaps a 1-1 draw.

United have struggled to score as of late and have relied heavily on Bruno Fernandes. In their last 6 matches, 3 ended 1-1. Leicester, on the other hand, have had 7 of their last 10 matches end at 3 goals or fewer, losing 6 and winning 1.

I expect a relatively low-scoring match and anticipate United will keep their unbeaten streak going.

Bonus:

Brentford to Win or Draw+105. Brentford haven’t lost to Bournemouth in their last 6 meetings.

Across the Globe:

  • Real Madrid Moneyline +130 (Spain; La Liga)

  • Minnesota United to Win Either Half -130 (USA; MLS)

  • Bayer Leverkusen Moneyline +130 (Spain; La Liga)

  • Anderlecht Moneyline -105 (Belgium; Jupiler Pro League)

  • Philadelphia Union Moneyline -120 (USA; MLS)

Season Record:

Best Bets: 37-46

Across the Globe: 70-65
