The waiver wire is a blast every week but nothing feels the same as pulling off a trade! Finding the right compensation can be tough and coming to an agreement is even harder. While we would all love to trade for Justin Jefferson, these articles are based around players that with the right compensation, are attainable. Each week throughout the season, I'll give you buy and sell candidates.
BUY
Joe Burrow, QB, Cincinnati Bengals
If anyone is disappointed with the low yardage total and playing Chicken Little I'm buying. You won't believe the amount of delusion I'm seeing and the hurt butts on Sleeper comments. I swear some people don't play fantasy they play who scores the most points in one game in one week. A piece of fantasy sure but not the whole picture. You know what else is a fantasy? Thinking the number 5 QB in half ppr right now is the reason why your team sucks and not your poor ball knowledge. Buy. Now.
Demario Douglas, WR, New England Patriots
As a Deebo manager believe me I get the frustration with the illness debacle. That being said, Douglas is the best receiver on the Patriots right now I believe. That's like being the winner of the ugly contest I get it, but you could do a lot worse than a young receiver on a rebuilding team that just turned the reins over to the young, franchise QB. Just don't overpay, especially in dynasty, and I think for all formats of fantasy football better days are ahead for Douglas and the Patriots as a whole.
Marvin Harrison Jr, WR, Arizona Cardinals
Just like Burrow, if there's overreaction I'm rubbing my hands like Birdman. Harrison Jr has shown flashes and bursts of his potential but has had himself handicapped by poor play calling it seems. A talent as great as his won't be burdened by this for long but all I see on all forms of media is a bunch of crybaby piss pants. In dynasty, redraft, etc. I'm wanting Harrison Jr. in all formats. Nabers posted a dud but is still unattainable but Harrison Jr. apparently already has a haters appreciation club formed for him.
SELL
Deandre Hopkins, WR, Kansas City Chiefs
This trade wasn't on my radar, but I have to admit after seeing and hearing about it I'm excited. About as I excited as I am about a wet fart. In dynasty you will have absolutely no better time than now to move on from Hopkins. Chiefs mania is fully locked in and we think we are going to see vintage Nuk. Especially in his first game it's very unlikely. Even another vet like Cooper had trouble learning the plays and book in his first game with Buffalo, I expect there to be a bit of a curve for Hopkins too. He's 32 with 11 years of experience and at the beginning of the season this year NBC sports already did an interview with him where he said he's playing through an MCL tear. Maybe this is why he's looked terrible on a terrible offense in the Titans, maybe not. Maybe it's both, all I know is I'm not overpaying in a league for a station wagon with 300,000 miles and a broken timing belt just because it's suddenly being stored in a million dollar garage now.
Josh Jacobs, RB, Green Bay Packers
Jacobs posted his highest points total all season with 17.70 in half ppr. This was heavily bolstered by a receiving touchdown which was his first in a looooonnngggg time. This Packers team has Love at the helm slanging that thang and shooting out. Jacobs is a guy who's needed volume his whole career to succeed and he's not getting that in the Packers and I don't think that will change. I also don't expect him to get any more receiving work to make up for this because the Packers have too many talented pass catchers. I'm looking to ship Jacobs out ASAP especially in redraft. Dynasty is trickier but I also still believe whenever he is activated and back Marshawn Lloyd will be a revelation in that backfield.
Russell Wilson, QB, Pittsburgh Steelers
He would easily be a buy if he didn't have such a brutal schedule after the Giants. A bye in week 9 then it's the Commanders, Ravens twice, Browns twice, Bengals, Eagles, and Kansas City. For the most part tough defenses with tough teams that will make the games shoot outs or at least take the lead early and often and I fear Wilson won't be able to keep up with Pickens being the only pass catcher getting play most reliably. The Browns are the only team that won't be high flying and blowing them out during that stretch I feel. That's my only knock against Wilson, I just don't think they will be able to overcome a lot of adversity early in these games and play catch up reliably enough to make him hit that ceiling of around 30 points very often. Plus those tough games are all right during fantasy playoffs and championship matches which certainly doesn't help your chances of winning your leagues.
