Premier League Soccer Best Bets #13 (April 27-28, 2024):

English Premier League Logo

Welcome to Premier League Soccer Best Bets, where we break down the latest action in the English Premier League (EPL) and my favorite bets for the upcoming matches, providing quality content in a way that is accessible to new and old fans alike.

Recap:

The EPL title race took a HUGE turn as Liverpool lost to Everton, their cross-town rival, giving Arsenal and Manchester City a big boost for the title. Many, myself included, see this as a crushing blow to Liverpool’s title hopes, although it’s possible we’ll yet see another twist in this title race.

Everton managed to not only defeat their rivals, but the win almost certainly guarantees they’ll avoid relegation this season.

For our last article’s bets, we went 1-3 for the main plays, losing Solanke to score or assist and our Man City/Liverpool parlay thanks to Liverpool’s epic loss. However, we won Crystal Palace to win either half as well as going 3-0 Around the Grounds.

Upcoming Matches:

Things are getting tight in the run in and the marquee matchup this weekend is the North London Derby between Arsenal and Tottenham. As a biased Tottenham supporter, I am hoping Arsenal’s title hopes take a big blow this weekend.

Bias (mostly) aside, let’s get to some bets for the weekend:

Pick #1: Luton Town to Win Either Half +110 (April 27, 2024; 10:00 a.m. EST):

Over the last few weeks, we’ve bet a few times on “to win either half” bets and, if I’m not mistaken, have won every one of them, so we’ll be looking to go for a 3-0 sweep on them this week.

Here we have two teams in relatively poor form, Wolves and Luton. Wolves will be playing their 3rd home match in a row and have lost the previous 2. Luton have lost 4 of their last 5, only managing a win against Bournemouth.

This will be a nervy bet as I believe Wolves are the better team. However, they’re safe, whereas Luton are fighting to stay in the Premier League. I expect Luton to come out strong and try to get a result. Ultimately, I don’t know that they’ll get the win, but I like them to give it all and at least win a half.

Pick #2: Crystal Palace to Win Either Half +105 (April 27, 2024; 10:00 a.m. EST):

We won this bet last week and I’m going back for it again. I’ve been backing Oliver Glasner as the new Crystal Palace head coach and their attacking play has been superb, winning their last 3 matches, outscoring their opponents 8-3. Even if Fulham look the force they’ve sometimes been at home, expect Palace to be on the front foot in attack and win either half.

It’s hard to know which Fulham will show up each week. They’ve looked a defensive force at times this season, particularly at home. With the attacking force of CP, who should be at full strength, I expect Fulham will at least concede on of the halves.

Feeling confident? I’ll also dabble with Crystal Palace Moneyline +240.

Pick #3: 2 Chelsea to Win Either Half -105 (April 27, 2024; 3:00 p.m. EST):

Chelsea looked like they may be turning things around, beating Manchester United and demolishing Everton earlier this month, thanks to 4 goals from Cole Palmer in that match. Then, Cole Palmer sat out. The other players were given the opportunity to show it’s Chelsea FC, not Cole Palmer FC, and failed spectacularly against Arsenal.

However, Cole Palmer is back! And coming off a 5-0 loss to Arsenal, Chelsea will look to get a reaction.

Aston Villa are a tough side who are fighting for a top 4 place. But they have a Europa Conference League match on Thursday, so they may not be at full capacity for the Chelsea match while they rest players for the UECL match.

Bonus: It’s Cole Palmer FC right now, I’m taking Cole Palmer Anytime Goalscorer +100.

Around the Grounds:

-       Atletico Madrid Moneyline -115 (Spain; La Liga)

-       Inter Miami Moneyline +115 (USA; MLS)

-       Argentinos Juniors Moneyline +170 (Argentina; Liga Profesional)

-       Athletico Paranaense Moneyline +125 (Brazil; Serie A)
