The NFL season is rapidly approaching which means my bankroll will be rapidly dwindling as I load up on future bets for the upcoming NFL season. With the Hall of Fame game behind us and the NFL preseason kicking off this Thursday, my life will once again be consumed by football. For those who have followed along with my content over the last year or so, you know that future bets are a huge part of my betting portfolio and they have been my most profitable bets during my career, especially in the NFL. I expect more of the same this year and have a ton of futures that I am looking at. I will be coming out with multiple articles, youtube videos, and will post plays on my twitter and in the discord, so be sure to be subscribed and following in order to get my plays early. Let's get into today's play.
Tennessee Titans Win Total U7.5 +105
The Bettor In Green boys have been anti Titans all summer long, and while we tend to exaggerate how bad we thing they will be, there is a lot of truth to what we have been saying for months. All 3 of us are looking for the Titans to regress significantly this season and to be one of the worst teams in the NFL. I personally think 7.5 wins is too many for this Titans team and I will gladly take the under at a plus price.
The Titans made a splash this offseason when they signed aging receiver Deandre Hopkins. While Hopkins has been one of the best wideouts in the last seven years or so, I do not believe we will see anything close to the usual DHop that we are used to. I expect a Julio Jones type drop off this season from the 5x pro bowler. Similarly to Hopkins, the Titans have their aging RB in Derrick Henry set to return for his 8th season in Tennessee. Henry has been the most dominant RB the last few years, but I think it all comes crashing down in the 2023-24 season. Henry has struggled to stay on the field during his career and I do not expect him to make it through the full 17 game schedule fully healthy. Henry has well outlived the average lifespan of NFL running backs and his age and injury history started to show late last season. While Henry and Hopkins are two big name weapons, their best days on the field are behind them and I think we are getting added value in fading the Titans because of that.
Let's look at the schedule. The Titans have a tough schedule early on and if they start out 0-4 or 0-5, I think we see Coach Vrabel give way to one of the younger QB's on the team which could completley implode the Titans season. Tennessee opens up with a road game against the Saints before going back to Nashville for their home opener against the Chargers. They then travel to the improved Browns in week 3 before coming back home to play the AFC juggernaut Cincinnati Bengals. In week 5, Tennessee travels to Indianapolis for their first divisional game of the season before heading to London for a "home" game against the Ravens. I see the Titans going 1-5 if not 0-6 in their first six games which would all but lock up this future bet. However, for the sake of the bet, let's say they beat the Colts and steal another win to start the year 2-4. Again, at this point, I believe we will see second year QB Malik Willis and/or rookie QB Will Levis. After the London game, the Titans get a much needed off week before hosting the Falcons in week 8, a game I think they can win. They then travel to Pittsburgh on a short week to play the Steelers on Thursday Night, a tough scheduling spot that I think results in an L. In week's 10 and 11, they play 2 more road games at Tampa Bay and Jacksonville, where I think they can beat the Buccaneers but fall to the Jaguars. This puts them at a conservative 4-6 through 10 games. Tennessee goes back home for back to back weeks to host the Panthers and Colts, two games that are winnable and that the Titans will need. I see them splitting these two games, personally, but again, for the sake of the experiment, let's give them two wins. that puts them at an even 6-6 with 5 games remaining, needing 2 wins to go over the win total. They head to Miami in week 14 where they should lose before coming home to host the Houston Texans, a game they will have a fighting chance in. They finish off the year at home against the Seahawks, on the road in Houston and then back home against the Jaguars. If they head into the final 3 weeks at 7-7, I think their only shot at going over 7.5 wins is to beat the Texans in Houston. After looking at my calculations, the Titans would have to go 4-2 in their division, would have to win 3 winnable games against the Falcons, Panthers, and Buccaneers (on the road), as well as steal another game somewhere in there to get to 8 wins. I really do not see that happening and I realistically see this team going 5-12 and soaring under the 7.5 total wins number. Between the aging vets, the young QB's waiting to see some NFL action, and a tough schedule in front of them, I will gladly grab under 7.5 wins at +105 for the Tennessee Titans.
