FITTING THE NFL MOLD

Physically speaking, Henderson fits perfectly in the mold of a successful NFL RB. Ideally, a RBs height will be between 5'9" and 6'1" and he will weigh somewhere between 200 and 230 lbs. The two greatest predictors of NFL success for RBs in the combine are the 40 Yard Dash and the Broad Jump. These test a players speed as well as their lower body explosiveness. His speed is rated as Good (4.41-4.55) and his Broad Jump is considered Elite (>10'5").

COLLEGE PRODUCTION

Henderson doesn't have any red flags coming out of college about his workload. NFL teams raise red flags when a player has 700 or more carries in college or 300+ carries in a season. Henderson has always had a moderate workload meaning he still has plenty of tread left on his tires. He has an elite YPC (6.9) throughout his college career averaging more yards per carry than both Breece Hall (6.4 ypc) and Jonathan Taylor (6.7 ypc).

WATCHING THE TAPE

Henderson is an elite pass catcher and is dangerous once he breaks into the second level of the defense. He refuses to go down on first contact and shows good balance breaking through the line of scrimmage. He doesn't shy away from contact when close to the endzone and will put his body on the line to get the score. Henderson is also a willing pass blocker who will put blitzing DBs on their rear. This is an often-overlooked aspect for RBs but teams that want to use RBs on third down need to be reliable blockers as well. This will allow teams to utilize his pass catching skills which are very underrated. He had multiple long catches on wheel routes where he was able to adjust his body and fight off the defender to secure the catch. The main concern with Henderson is how much contact he sustains while trying to break through the line on inside runs. This contact too frequently results in him getting 2-3 yards on his run.

THE LANDING SPOT

The Patriots knew they shouldn't resign Stevenson, yet they did anyways and now they're kicking themselves. They don't have an out with his contract until 2027 meaning Henderson is likely splitting time quite a bit over these next two years. The Patriots are trying to beef up the O-Line and with Mike Vrabel in town, they should be running the ball early and often. I don't love this spot for Henderson, but he has the talent to make it work.

WHERE TO DRAFT HIM

In Redraft leagues, I'm avoiding Henderson but keeping an eye on him as a waiver wire option later in the season. In Dynasty rookie drafts, Henderson is a late 1st or early 2nd round pick due to his talent. He's likely going to be a frustrating player to hold but the talent is there.
