Weekend Warriors: Best Bets for Nov 4th - 5th.

WE DID IT! We finally broke through the 2-2 streak as I said we would and went 3-1 in our article plays last weekend. We got off to a nice start on Saturday by sweeping the college football board before heading into Sunday where we won our honorable mention on DEN +7.5, however, we lost our best bet on the Niners. This loss should have an asterisks next to it as a big reason for me backing the Niners last weekend was because I thought we were getting Sam Darnold rather than Brock Purdy starting at QB. When it was announced late Saturday that Purdy was a full go, I knew our bet on San Francisco was in trouble. Even though we lost our NFL best bet, I will take a 3-1 weekend. Let's carry that momentum through this weekend.

NYJ +3.5 -110 vs LAC

We head to Monday Night Football for my NFL best bet. I like the home dog in the New York Jets + the points against the visiting Chargers. The Chargers are off of a Sunday Night victory where they dismantled the Chicago Bears on primetime, a much needed win for LA. While blowing out the Bears shouldn't be an accomplishment for anybody, anything short of that for this Chargers team could've seen a complete shake up to this organization. If the Chargers let the Bears hang around last Sunday night, it is likely that Head Coach Brandon Staley wouldn't have stuck around past Monday morning. The Chargers got the dominant win that they needed and this feels like a let down spot for them. They are back on primetime for the 2nd consecutive week but this time, they have to travel across the country to New York to face the Jets. The Jets boast a much better defense than that of the Bears and I think they will give Justin Herbert an the Chargers issues. Not only that but the Jets offense has been clicking as well as of late and the Jets are on a sneaky 3 game winning streak. New York hasn't lost since the first of October and they haven't left home since October 8th. I think this is a really good matchup for the Jets and I think the Chargers continue to struggle against good defenses. I will gladly take 3.5 points with the better defense at home but I don't think you'll need it. Give me the Jets to spring the upset in a 24-23 type of game on Monday Night Football.

Honorable Mention: ARI +11.5

#13 Caleb Williams - QB - USC | Source: USC Athletics

USC +3 -110 vs WAS

Once again, plug your nose cause this one is gross. I am backing USC at home to cover a 3 point spread vs the 5th best team in the country in Washington. USC has looked completely awful in their last few matchups as they have dropped games to Notre Dame and Utah, while also narrowly escaping with wins against Cal by 1, Arizona in triple OT, and Colorado by a touchdown. While USC is still ranked 24th, a lot of people, including myself, can't help but wonder why. This team had high expectations going into the season with Heisman favorite Caleb Williams at the helm of their offense. While Williams looks like he already has one foot into the NFL and has struggled for his standards this season, it is the USC defense that is the real problem. It is tough for me to even say that USC has a defense because they really don't. They allow anybody and everybody to walk up and down the field and get points. So why would I be backing USC after all of that? I like the spot for the Trojans and I think the line is telling you all you need to know. While USC has consistently struggled, they still only have 2 losses and have PAC-12 front runners Washington and Oregon left on their schedule. If they sweep their next 2 games against those teams, they are alive to win the PAC-12. Not only that but I feel that Caleb Williams will play a great game today as he goes against another Heisman candidate in Michael Penix Jr, QB for the Huskies. If I know one thing about Williams, it's that he has a huge ego, and I doubt his ego will let him get outbattled today by Penix Jr. and Co. I like USC in a high scoring matchup today to get the outright win and cover in what looks to be a 48-45 type of game. Back the Trojans and get ready for a barn burner.

Honorable Mention: ISU -2.5 vs KU
