Wildcard Weekend DFS Plays

Week 16 NFL DFS Values

Wildcard Weekend is here and sportsbooks like Underdog (like we recommend and play ourselves) are offering small 6 league drafts where you choose 6 players to make your line up to win big cash! With only 6 picks, a whiff could cost you. I'll give you a pick that could win you your week and a pick that could be a potential land mine.

QB Play: Baker Mayfield vs Washington Commanders

These two teams played Week 1 and Baker threw for 289 yards and 4 TDs. The Commanders faced very few teams that could actually pass the ball and when they did, they were giving up 300+ yards and multiple TDs. Their total season stats make it looks like they have a vaunted pass defense but in reality, they played the Giants and Cowboys twice along with the NFC South and basement dwellers like the Titans and Cardinals. The best part is that you can get the higher ranked receivers and RBs while other QBs go off the board and end up with a value in Baker.

QB Fade: Josh Allen vs Denver Broncos

Fading the 2nd best player in all of fantasy this season may be crazy to some but there should be some serious warning signs going off. Denver is #1 in sack percentage and 7th in yardage allowed. This Denver team is coming into this game off a high, and as underdogs, they will be ready to attack the Buffalo offense. Buffalo likely wins this game, but I think Denver keeps this a lower scoring affair which makes Allen a risky pick that you also have to take in the first two rounds.

RB Play: Joe Mixon vs Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers are #1 in lowest number of rushing TDs per game and only allowed 39 rush yards last week but there is one glaring stat that makes me think that Mixon can get back on track after fading late in the season. The Chargers are giving up 4.7 yards per rush which is the 6th worst rate in the league. Mixon is also being drafted in the final two rounds of drafts. That gives him insane value where you can go WR heavy early and get your RB late or a solid Flex to complete your roster.

RB Fade: Pittsburgh RBs vs the Baltimore Ravens

While the Ravens have struggled on defense this year, it hasn't been due to the running game. They are number one in the league in yards allowed per rush at just 3.6 yards per rush. Najee and Warren combined for just 90 yards and zero TDs. If I only have six picks, I guarantee that someone better is available.

WR Play: Puka Nacua vs Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings have the 5th worst pass defense and now have to play on the road after a disheartening loss. They give up nearly 2 passing TDs on the road and Nacua has the chance to go nuclear. He has seen 7+ receptions in every game besides one since Nov 11th. He has also had 97+ yards in 6 of his last 8 games. Puka should be one of the first four players off the board.

WR Fade: Jayden Reed vs Philadelphia Eagles

The talent is there but the production is not. He has had 3 or less receptions in 7 of his last 8 games. He has also only scored 3 TDs in that span making him more of a boom or bust player. Anything other than taking him with your last pick is a mistake.

TE Play: Mark Andrews vs Pittsburgh Steelers

Andrews has scored a TD in each of the last 6 games. He had a horrible start to the season and while he isn't putting up massive yardage or reception totals, he's a redzone threat and reliable target for one of the best QBs in the league. It was a down year for TEs, but Andrews has less potential than some of the others to leave you with a dud.

TE Fade: All other TEs

If you're not drafting Andrews, then you should wait until the final round or two to take your TE. Nearly nobody is going double TE, so you're guaranteed a semi-respectable option. Reaching at the TE position will sink your team instantly.
