If you went with my safe and value plays last week, congratulations, they were all winners. Moving to 3-0 on the tournament feels good but things are only going to get tougher. I’m here to help get you paid out, Bettor in Green or Bust style. This article will cover the Thursday and Friday games.

Spain (-205) vs Netherlands (+160)

This line is massively disrespectful to the Netherlands who have given up just 1 goal this entire tournament in a draw with the United States. Spain has scored the second most goals in this tournament but this should be closer to a pick-em. The Netherlands have yet to lose while Spain suffered a crushing 0-4 loss to top scoring Japan. Spain still managed to be in possession of the ball for 78% of the time. They are out shooting the teams they face while the Netherlands defensive superiority has ben able to get them wins in games where they have less shots than the team they’re playing. You can’t win if you don’t score and you can’t score without the ball. For that reason, I’m leaning the side of Spain in what should be a tight affair.

Safe Play: Spain to Advance (-205)

Value Play: Both teams to Score (-105)

Risky Header: 2-1 Spain Win (+650)

Something to chew on: A 3-0 Netherlands win is +4000, while a 3-1 or 3-2 win is +3000. 1000 difference says Spain scores in this game.

Japan (-175) vs Sweden (+140)

Japan is simply on another level right now. Both teams are unbeaten at the moment and have only given up one goal in the tournament. Sweden is coming off of a victory over the previous champs thanks to stellar goal tending. Japan has scored an insane 14 goals in 4 games which included a 4-0 shellacking of a Spain team I’m expecting to make the semifinals. I expect Japan to take care of business in regulation.

Safe Play: Japan to Advance (-175)

Value Play: Japan Regulation ML (+120)

Risky Header: Japan to win by 3 (+1500)

Something to chew on: Japan Reg ML(+120) vs Sweden to Advance (+140)
