December 26, 2025
Welcome to English Premier League Soccer Best Bets, where we break down the latest action and best bets in the English Premier League (EPL).

Welcome to English Premier League Best Bets, a Bettor in Green Article Series where we break down the latest action in the English Premier League (EPL) and my favorite bets for the upcoming matchweek.

For an overview of what to expect in this Series, check out my 2025/26 EPL Season Preview and Futures article here.

Recap:

Saturday was a full slate with 8 matches, starting with a 2-2 draw between Newcastle and Chelsea.

Later in the day, we saw a thrilling match between Tottenham and Liverpool, where Spurs ultimately got 2 red cards, yet still looked dangerous enough to push for an equalizer when short-handed.

Manchester City briefly stood atop the EPL table, until Arsenal returned to the top after a 0-1 win at Everton.

On Sunday, Villa got a 2-1 win over Manchester United, thanks to a brace from Morgan Rogers.

On Monday, Fulham beat Nottingham Forest 1-0, with a Raul Jiménez penalty separating the sides.

We went 2-1 again for Best Bets, winning with Chelsea to Win Either Half, despite them getting an 2-2 draw with Newcastle, and winning Man City to Nil. We lost our 3rd bet, as Arsenal won but failed to get over 1.5 goals.

Across the Globe we went 4-1, also winning our “To Win Either Half” bet despite Ajax drawing the game outright.

Upcoming Matches:

It’s Boxing Day! One of my favorite days of the year, often filled with soccer throughout the day.

This season, with Boxing Day falling on a Friday, we have a relatively standard weekend, with only 1 match falling on Boxing Day, Manchester United hosting Newcastle.

Saturday brings 7 matches over 3 match windows, starting with Nottingham Forest hosting Manchester City, and ending with Chelsea hosting Aston Villa.

On Sunday, we have 2 matches, as Sunderland host Leeds and then a London Derby between Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur.

Let’s get to the bets:

Best Bets:

Pick #1: 2-Leg Parlay: Manchester City and Arsenal Moneyline +110 (Dec. 27, 2025; 7:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. EST):

For my first Best Bet, I’m backing the top two to get victories and continue their race at the top.

Manchester City open the Saturday fixtures at Nottingham Forest. City are on a 7-match win streak and have only conceded 1 goal in their last 5 matches, against Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Erling Haaland is still in incredible form, scoring a brace and getting an assist in City’s 3-0 win over West Ham last week.

While Forest have been more consistent under Sean Dych, City’s quality will likely be enough to crack Forest’s defense.

Further, City should be at less risk of rotation in this match, playing their next match on Thursday while Nottingham Forest are back in action on Tuesday.

Next is Arsenal, who just bested Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup Quarter-Final on Tuesday in a penalty shootout.

While this recent clash against a tough opponent may lead to some rotation, Arsenal will need a win to keep their lead atop the EPL table.

Arsenal looked good for most of their Carabao Cup match, with 25 shots and 7 on target.

While their opponents, Brighton, have put together a solid performance so far this season, they’re currently on a 4-match winless streak and will be looking forward to a couple easier matches after this Arsenal clash at the Emirates.

Pick #2: Liverpool to Win to Nil +105 (Dec. 27, 2025; 10:00 a.m. EST):

Next, I’m looking to back Liverpool in their current strong form and am continuing to fade Wolves.

Liverpool have yet to lose in December and are on a 6-match unbeaten run. While they had some shaky moments against Spurs last week, they held onto their lead to take all 3 points and move into 5th place.

A concern for Liverpool will be the injuries picked up against Spurs, including Conor Bradley, Jeremie Frimpong, and, most notably, Alexander Isak.

Frimpong should be good to return, though Bradley is a doubt and Isak is out for months with a broken leg. However, Hugo Ekitike stepped up earlier in the season when Isak was out and will likely thrive when called upon as the main man up top for Liverpool.

As we’ve discussed at length in this series, Wolves have been terrible this season, having lost their last 11 in a row. They’ve yet to win a game this season in the EPL.

Further, they’ve only scored 9 goals in the EPL all season, far fewer than any team in the League. They’ve only scored 4 in their last 10 EPL matches. They couldn’t even get a penalty goal against Brentford last weekend.

Liverpool should control this match comfortably and I expect Wolves to continue their poor run and lack of goals.

Pick #3: West Ham United v Fulham Under 2.5 Total Goals -105 (Dec. 27, 2025; 10:00 a.m. EST):

For our final Best Bet, I’m taking the under in the West Ham and Fulham match.

I can see this match going 0-0 or 1-1 in a rather lackluster match.

West Ham are at home and are on a 6-match winless run. They average 1.1 goals per match and the under 2.5 has hit in 6 of their last 12 matches.

While Fulham have only gone under 2.5 in 4 of 12, they’re only averaging 1.4 goals per match, only conceding 1.5 per match.

Neither side is particularly possession-focused, with West Ham employing a counter-attacking approach. With Nuno’s West Ham at home, they should look to limit Harry Wilson and the rest of the Fulham attack.

With Fulham only getting a penalty goal last week in a 1-0 win over Forest, they failed to have any shots on target outside of the penalty kick.

With the clubs likely having a day off for the holidays and having midweek matches upcoming, this should be a low-scoring affair between two bottom-half clubs.
