Recap:

We had another weekend of missed chances in the title race last weekend, with each of the top 4 teams failing to win their match.

The weekend started off with the Manchester Derby, as United beat City 2-0.

Liverpool then only got a draw with Burnley, with Arsenal managing a scoreless draw at Nottingham Forest in the late match on Saturday.

With a prime opportunity to go 2nd and put pressure on Arsenal, Aston Villa failed to capitalize and lost 0-1 to Everton.

Some of the biggest news of the weekend revolved around Crystal Palace, as they sold star defender Marc Guehi to Manchester City. Their manager, Oliver Glasner, had been rumored to be leaving at the end of the season and confirmed that fact in a fiery press conference where he blamed club leadership.

It was a rough week in the betting department, going 0-3. I’m in a bit of a personal slump, having also done poorly in the Champions League this week. However, I’ve gone back to the drawing board to research my Best Bets for the upcoming matchweek.

Across the Globe was also a losing week, hitting 2-3, winning with Trabzonspor and on our AFCON Final bet.

Upcoming Matches:

Matchweek 23 begins with West Ham hosting Sunderland.

We then have 3 matches in the 10 a.m. EST window, before Saturday wraps up with Bournemouth hosting Liverpool.

The big match on Sunday is Arsenal hosting Manchester United.

The weekend ends on Monday, with Everton hosting Leeds United.

Let’s get to the bets:

Best Bets:

Pick #1: Liverpool Moneyline -115 (Jan. 24, 2026; 12:30 p.m. EST):

For our first Bet, I’m looking to the last match on Saturday, as Bournemouth host Liverpool.

Liverpool are unbeaten in 13 matches in all competitions, the longest current unbeaten streak in any of Europe’s top 5 leagues.

They’ve drawn their last 4 EPL matches, though just got a win in the Champions League on Wednesday at Marseille. Liverpool haven’t had 5 consecutive draws since the 1980s and will be looking to use the momentum from their UCL win.

While they also have a Champions League match coming up in the middle of this week, they will be staying home to face Qarabag. While Qarabag are a good side, Liverpool are comfortably qualifying for the next round of the UCL, the only question being whether they can stay in the top-8 and get a bye for the next round.

They also have Mo Salah back from AFCON, with the tension between Salah and manager Arne Slot seemingly in the past.

Bournemouth, their opponents, have only won once in the last 14 matches, winning their visit to Dr. Tottenham in Semenyo’s last match.

This will be a tough match for Bournemouth, with Liverpool eager to maintain their top-4 spot and without Semenyo, who was sold to Manchester City.

Pick #2: Brentford Moneyline -110 (Jan. 25, 2026; 9:00 a.m. EST):

For our second Best Bet, I’m backing the high-flying Brentford to get another win at home.

Brentford were on a streak of 6 matches unbeaten until their loss to Chelsea last weekend. Notably, their loss at Chelsea was on the road, as Brentford have done significantly better at home this season.

They are 7-3-1 at home, having scored the 3rd-most goals and having the 3rd-best goal differential of any team in the EPL while at home, only behind Arsenal and Manchester City. By contrast, they are 3-0-8 when playing on the road.

Igor Thiago and Kevin Schade have been incredible this season with 16 goals for Thiago and 6 for Schade in the EPL this season.

Their opposition, Nottingham Forest, just played on Thursday in the Europa League, a 1-0 loss to Portuguese side Braga. Gibbs-White had a penalty saved, then Yates rather immediately thereafter had an own goal. This allowed Braga to win the match without registering a single shot on target.

Forest have only won 1 match in 8, a win against 18th-place West Ham. They've also struggled to score this season, with only Wolves having scored fewer EPL goals this season.

Further, Nottingham Forest have another Europa League match on Thursday and though they’ll definitely qualify for the next round, they won’t secure the automatic bye and will need a good result to get a higher-seeded position for the next round.

With Brentford at home and in good form, with Forest in poor form and sandwiched between two Europa League matches, I’m backing Brentford to win.

Pick #3: Chelsea Moneyline -105 (Jan. 25, 2026; 9:00 a.m. EST):

For our final Best Bet, I’m taking Chelsea moneyline against Crystal Palace in a London Derby.

Chelsea are doing well and scoring goals under new manager Rosenior, with 10 goals in his 4 matches in charge. 5 of the 10 came in the FA Cup against 2nd-tier Charlton, but they’ve scored in each of their last 4 under Rosenior, winning 3 and losing 1, against Arsenal.

Chelsea have also been one of the best teams on the road in the EPL this season, as they’ve scored the most away goals and have the best away goal differential.

Crystal Palace, on the other hand, are on 10 match winless streak, including their historic loss to Macclesfield, a 6th-tier team, in the FA Cup, a loss that is being discussed as one of the biggest upsets in football history.

They’ve lost their captain and star defender, Marc Guehi and will lose their manager, Oliver Glasner, who I rate quite highly, at the end of the season. He called out the club leadership in his last press conference, showing tensions are extremely high at the club.

I also am hearing rumors they may lose their best striker, JP Mateta in the summer. The current state of the club is not looking optimistic, unlike the current picture at Chelsea, which is trending in the positive.

Chelsea do have an upcoming UCL match against Napoli, who need a result against Chelsea to qualify. Chelsea, though, look set to qualify, with the only question being whether they make the top-8 and secure an automatic berth into the round of 16.

They’ll prioritize this London Derby just as much, as they’ll need to win if they want to get into the top-4 for the EPL, critically important for qualifying for next season’s Champions League.

Chelsea have arguably one of the deepest squads in all of Europe, so they can afford a little rotation for either of these matches.
