Every Lineup Fighter: Anthony Hernandez, $9,100, (-285)

My Every Lineup Fighter this week is Anthony Hernandez, and if there’s anyone on this card who can force a first-round finish, it’s him. Hernandez fights at a pace that breaks people—relentless pressure, chain wrestling, and a gas tank that never seems to empty. Meanwhile, Sean Strickland is going to have to completely reinvent himself in this matchup. Strickland’s upright stance and high guard make him very prone to takedowns. Hernandez is elite at flowing from one attempt to the next, and even if Strickland stuffs the first shot, the second and third are coming immediately. Strickland isn’t a natural grappler, and over five rounds I don’t trust him to consistently avoid getting grounded or caught in scrambles. His slow, methodical, step-forward style helps him conserve energy—but he won’t get that luxury against Hernandez’s pressure. There will not be a single lineup I build this week without “Fluffy” anchoring it.

Value Fighter: Zach Reese, $7,700, (+130)

My Value Fighter this week is Zachary Reese, and this is the exact type of DFS leverage spot I love. Reese and Michel Pereira are basically mirror images—violent, explosive finishers who can end a fight in seconds, but who have also taken some surprising losses over the past couple of years. That volatility makes this feel like a true coin-flip matchup, yet you’re getting Reese at a discount while keeping the exact same first-round finishing upside. Both guys have lost some shine recently, which should naturally suppress ownership, and that’s gold in tournaments. If this turns into the chaos fight it projects to be, I’d rather have the cheaper side with equal kill-shot potential and the leverage that comes with it.

Fade Fighter: Carlos Leal, $8,200, (-130)

My Fade Fighter this week is Carlos Leal, and I want no part of him at this number. He’s priced like a steady, reliable option, but the upside just isn’t there—especially coming off getting flatlined in under a minute by 41-year-old Muslim Salikhov. That kind of recent knockout loss is hard to ignore. On the other side, Chidi Njokuani has taken losses too, but this matchup feels much closer to a pick’em than the odds suggest. If this should realistically sit around -110 both ways, then there’s zero reason to pay a mid-tier salary for a middle-of-the-pack skill set with questionable ceiling. I’d much rather take a shot on a live underdog with real finishing upside than ride with Leal in this spot.
