Welcome to English Premier League Best Bets, a Bettor in Green Article Series where we break down the latest action in the English Premier League (EPL) and my favorite bets for the upcoming matchweek.

For an overview of what to expect in this Series, check out my 2025/26 EPL Season Preview and Futures article here.

Recap:

The title race took another decisive turn in favor of Arsenal, as they beat Everton, while Manchester City only managed a draw against Everton. Arsenal now sit a rather comfortable 9 points ahead of City, though they’ve played 31 games while City has only played 30.

The top-4 race is extremely close, as Manchester United beat Aston Villa to leapfrog them into 3rd place. Chelsea lost to Newcastle and Liverpool drew to Tottenham, so they find themselves just outside the top-4 and looking to find a way in.

Tuesday brought us a huge upset, as last-place Wolves continued their recent trend of giant-killing, beating Liverpool 2-1.

On Wednesday, there was a big result in the title race, as Arsenal won their match against Brighton and Manchester City only managed a draw against Nottingham Forest.

At the bottom, Wolves, Burnley, West Ham, Nottingham Forest, Spurs, and Leeds all got a draw last weekend, so there wasn’t much movement in the relegation battle.

We hit 1-2 for Best Bets again, only winning Arsenal to Win to Nil. I’m feeling particularly hard-done this week, as this is now the 2nd week in a row we haven’t hit a “to win either half” market, despite our team being up a man for the entirety of the 2nd half (Manchester United last week and Crystal Palace this week).

Across the Globe we hit 3-2, only losing Inter Miami and AC Milan.

Upcoming Matches:

This week, Arsenal and Manchester City face off in the Carabao Cup final, meaning we they won’t play in the EPL this week.

That means we have 1 match on Friday, 4 matches Saturday, and 3 matches on Sunday.

One of the biggest matches of the weekend is the Tyne-Wear Derby, as Newcastle host Sunderland on Sunday.

Another big match in the relegation battle is Spurs hosting Nottingham Forest.

Let’s get to the bets:

Best Bets:

Pick #1: Manchester United Moneyline +105 (March 20, 2026; 4:00 p.m. EST):

For my first Best Bet, I’m looking to the first match of the weekend, Bournemouth hosting Manchester United.

United have significantly improved under interim manager Michael Carrick, having risen to 3rd place and aiming to solidify themselves in the top-4, qualifying for the Champions League next season.

They’ve won 7 of their 9 matches since Carrick has been in charge, with their only loss coming against Newcastle.

The had a rather dominant performance against Aston Villa last week, with 16 shots and 6 on target, compared to Villa’s 9 shots with 2 on target.

With minimal injuries and Bruno Fernandes in great form, they will be a tough opponent for Bournemouth.

Speaking of Bournemouth, they are unbeaten in their last 10 EPL matches. However, they’ve drawn 6 of those 10, including 4 successive draws in their last 4 matches.

The bigger concern for Bournemouth is they haven’t scored a goal in either of their last 2 matches, having only scored 1 in their last 4.

While goals haven’t been a huge concern for this Bournemouth squad, it definitely seems to be a concern as of late.

I’m backing the resurgent and in-form United here, despite being on the road, and love the line at plus money.

Pick #2: Aston Villa Moneyline -105 (March 22, 2026; 10:15 a.m. EST):

Next, I’m backing Aston Villa to bring some of their Europa League form back to the EPL as they host West Ham.

Villa have struggled as of late in the EPL, winning only 2 of their last 10 EPL matches. They’re winless in their last 4, having lost their last 3.

However, they’ve played well in the Europe League, winning their last 7 matches in that competition, including winning both legs of their match against Lille, with an aggregate score of 3-0.

With them falling to 4th place, and with Liverpool and Chelsea hot on their heels, Villa need to pick up some points to ensure they secure a Champions League spot for next season.

West Ham, their opposition, will be a tough opponent. They’re fighting to avoid relegation and have been in decent form with only 2 losses in their last 12 matches across all competitions, including advancing in the FA Cup.

While they’ve only lost one of their last 5 EPL matches, they’ve also only won 1, securing 3 draws along the way (albeit, against tough opposition in Man United, Bournemouth, and Man City).

However, they are set to be without a player with whom I’ve been very impressed lately, Crysencio Summerville. If you’ve followed this article series, you’ll have seen us bet on his shot props a few times, as he’s been a bright spot for West Ham as they look to get out of the relegation zone.

Villa, on the other hand, had to play in the Europe League on Thursday, though they were at home and were able to rotate their squad a bit, as well as having a relatively full squad available.

While history isn’t always the best guide, Villa haven’t lost to West Ham since 2022.

While playing clubs at this stage of the season who are in the relegation zone can be tricky, I think this is a great spot for Villa to pick up some points at home.

Pick #3: Tottenham Hotspur Moneyline +125 (March 22, 2026; 10:15 a.m. EST):

For our final Best Bet, looking to the big relegation battle between Spurs and Nottingham Forest.

Forest sit in 17th, one place above the relegation zone. However, they’re tied on points with West Ham and only above them on goal differential.

Spurs sit only one point above Forest, so a win for either side could be critical in avoiding relegation, especially if West Ham pick up points.

Spurs have been dreadful in the league, yet to win in the EPL in 2026. However, the drive and performances they’ve given in their last 2 matches (a 1-1 draw to Liverpool and a 3-2 victory over Atlético Madrid in the Champions League) have shown some promise.

While they didn’t advance in the Champions League, they finally got their first win under interim manager Igor Tudor. They also showed a level of fight in their draw to Liverpool and their win over Atléti that I haven’t seen from Spurs in months.

Admittedly, I wasn’t able to watch Forest’s most recent Europa League match against FC Midtjylland, where they won 1-2 on the road and forced extra time and penalties, where they ended up advancing.

While they rotated a decent chunk of their squad, both starters and subs ended up playing roughly 60 minutes, since they went to extra time. They then had to travel back from Denmark, before traveling to London to face Spurs.

While this should be a tough match for both sides, I think the drive I saw from Spurs will help them win this match, despite their injury crisis and missing players.

Worried about a draw? Try Tottenham to Win Either Half -140 instead.
