Rookie Review: Jeremiah Love’s Fantasy Outlook
FITTING THE NFL MOLD
Love has the prototypical size NFL teams look for—a bigger back who can absorb contact and reduce injury risk without sacrificing speed or efficiency. He pairs that build with elite athleticism, clocking a sub-4.4 40-yard dash that places him in the 98th percentile in speed score, a metric that adjusts for a player’s size. Love had a 96 production score according to nfl.com coming off back to back highly productive seasons. While he put up big numbers, he didn’t receive so much work that wear and tear is going to be a concern for NFL front offices.
WATCHING THE TAPE
Love is a true three-down back who never needs to leave the field. He runs with a dynamic, almost video game–like style—hurdling, spinning, and trucking defenders with ease. What really sets him apart is his vision, consistently finding holes and creases to maximize every carry. Once contact is made, he keeps his legs driving, often turning minimal gains into extra yardage or second-effort opportunities when defenders can’t finish the tackle.
He combines elusiveness with power, making him especially dangerous near the goal line, where he’ll do whatever it takes to punch the ball in. While he is capable as a receiver out of the backfield, that’s the one area where he looks slightly less natural. That said, his 3.3% drop rate suggests it’s not a meaningful concern and shouldn’t impact his fantasy draft value.
THE LANDING SPOT
Love is one of the few players to come out of the draft with a favorable landing spot. He steps in to be the starting RB day one in Arizona. They just signed Allgeier who won’t be anything more than he was in Atlanta, Benson may have already fallen out of favor with the new coaching staff and hasn’t shown his ability at this level, and Conner is a legit cut candidate. He will get plenty of rushing and receiving work and a majority of the redzone work. The only downside in Arizona is that this team and offense is projected to rank in the lower half of the league.
WHERE TO DRAFT HIM
Love is the 1.01 in dynasty leagues and should be drafted in the first two rounds in most redraft leagues.
