Rookie Review: Jadarian Price’s Fantasy Outlook
FITTING THE NFL MOLD
Price has the frame of an NFL starting running back, though there are some questions about whether he has the top-end speed to handle a true every-down role. His athletic profile is slightly above average—posting a 66th percentile speed score and 65th percentile burst score, ranking seventh among this year’s backs in athletic profile. At Notre Dame, he played behind Love, which limited his overall touches, but he made the most of his opportunities by averaging an efficient 6.0 yards per carry. He also stands out as a reliable pass catcher, recording zero drops last season, making him a strong option as a third-down receiving back.
WATCHING THE TAPE
Price may not test as an elite athlete, but he plays faster than his measurables suggest. He has enough speed to be effective and showed that ability as a kick returner. When given space on the outside or solid blocking up front, he can capitalize and create big plays. He isn’t particularly elusive, though—he’s more of a north-south runner who will either go around defenders or run through them rather than relying on jukes or spins. As mentioned earlier, he’s an excellent pass catcher, and like Love, he displays strong vision as a ball carrier. That vision helps him consistently find lanes and make up for any limitations in straight-line speed.
THE LANDING SPOT
Jadarian Price could not have asked for a cleaner runway than Seattle. Falling to the reigning Super Bowl champions puts him in an offense that should be competitive right away, but more importantly, it drops him into a backfield that is wide open. Kenneth Walker is gone after signing with Kansas City in free agency, and Zach Charbonnet’s torn ACL in the playoffs makes it hard to project him as someone Seattle can lean on early in 2026. That puts Price in the driver’s seat to take control of this backfield immediately, and he won’t be walking into a situation where defenses can simply key in on him every snap. Seattle has legitimate receiving weapons to keep boxes lighter, plus a winning infrastructure that should give him red-zone chances and positive game scripts.
WHERE TO DRAFT HIM
In Dynasty leagues, Price is locked in as an early to mid 1st round pick. I’m comfortably drafting him as my RB2 around the 6th round in redraft leagues.
